CONTEXT
Vi Business, the enterprise arm of Vodafone Idea, powers organizations like Google, Apple, & IBM with large-scale telecom solutions. It streamlines complex operations like billing, payments, tax filing, and service management, making it a trusted platform for enterprise connectivity and control
Understanding
PROBLEM
Vi's legacy systems were manual and fragmented—causing delays in bill reconciliation, tax filing, and issue resolution. To support its growing B2B customer base and streamline operations, Vi needed a unified, scalable dashboard for secure payments, service requests, and grievance redressal

Large enterprises, SMEs, and businesses managing complex financial operations and high transaction volumes.
MY ROLE
As Senior Experience Designer, I led design strategy and team execution, aligning with business goals, mentoring four designers, and driving Agile delivery. I collaborated closely with product, engineering, and IBM teams to ensure a cohesive, scalable solution.
RESULT
The redesign led to an 80% faster reconciliation, 30% reduction in disputes. Tax handling became more efficient, and role-based access improved security. Overall, the platform boosted operational efficiency and enterprise trust at scale
Discovery
User Interviews
We conducted interviews with finance teams and stakeholders across client organizations, uncovering key pain points like delayed reconciliation, scattered tax docs, poor payment tracking, and limited issue visibility, insights that shaped our user-first approach.

Audit of Existing System
A thorough UX and process audit of the existing platform revealed multiple friction points, manual reconciliation steps, disjointed workflows, limited automation, and poor scalability. These findings helped prioritize key features for automation, simplification, and improved user experience.

In the strategy phase, my role as a lead on this project required tools and methods that helped me align stakeholders, define the scope, and build a roadmap that would guide design execution and team collaboration.

🏆 Drove execution with Agile precision
We adopted an Agile, sprint-based approach to drive speed, clarity, and alignment. Design sprints were mapped to key business milestones, allowing for rapid iteration and continuous stakeholder feedback. As design lead, I standardized Figma workflows, ensured pixel-perfect, dev-ready files, and streamlined design-to-dev handoffs. Using Jira to manage sprints, I coordinated closely with product managers, developers, and IBM integration teams, keeping everyone in sync. This tightly aligned, cross-functional execution ensured timely delivery of a scalable, enterprise-grade solution with measurable business impact.
One Dashboard, Total Control
The final outcome was a scalable, unified financial dashboard tailored for large enterprises. It streamlined payments, tax compliance, user management, and grievance redressal, empowering finance teams to operate with greater efficiency, accuracy, and control.
With 150+ unique screens designed, we reimagined complex legacy flows, simplifying them through a deep understanding of backend constraints. Key highlights includes-

The portal's launch received strong recognition internally and across the industry. Vi Business Assist won the 'Best New Product Launch' award at the 5th Silver Feather Awards, validating the strategic vision and collective effort behind its creation.
💡My learnings -
Vodafone Idea has been a journey of growth, from an Associate to Senior, I've learned to lead projects, take ownership of end-to-end delivery, and manage teams. It's shaped me into a strategic thinker with a business lens. I was also awarded with Certificate of Excellence in May'2024 for my impactful contributions towards multiple projects.

One of the most influential lessons came from Nikalank Jain, VP of Design at Vodafone Idea, who emphasized the power of Storytelling and the role Analytics play in shaping meaningful design.
He always says, “Don't be a data-driven designer, you can get lost in the numbers. Be data-informed, but user-driven so you don't lose sight of who you're solving for” and this mindset has stayed with me ever since.
